Referral to Secondary Care (Hospital Specialties)
Following your consultation Dr McCallum may wish to refer you to a hospital specialist. The referral can be sent to the appropriate specialist at the local NHS hospital or to a private provider. Dr McCallum can send NHS and private referrals via email so there is no delay in the hospital receiving and processing the referral.
Any referral made or letter back from a hospital specialist will be shared with your NHS GP, if consent is given for this.
Referral for Radiology Investigations (X-rays and Scans)
Dr McCallum may wish to refer you for an x-ray or ultrasound scan; and in some specific situations for a CT or MRI scan. The referral can be sent to the local NHS Radiology department or to a private provider. Dr McCallum can send NHS and private radiology referrals via email so there is no delay in the hospital receiving and processing the referral.
Any radiology referral and results will be shared with your NHS GP, if consent is given for this.
