We’ve all heard phrases like “if you pay peanuts you’ll get monkeys” and “you get what you pay for“. These ring true for aesthetic practitioners and the products they use.
Times are tough and we all want to save money by grabbing a bargain but true bargains are hard to come by in aesthetics because quality aesthetic products that are licensed for use in the UK are not cheap. If you see practitioners advertising “1ml of lip filler for £75” or “three areas of botox for £100″, it’s too good to be true. The products they are using are unlikely to be licensed or safe, as the regulated products alone, cost more than this to buy from the wholesaler.
Practitioners using these products are also less likely to have training in complications of filler and botox treatments and are unable to treat them when they arise. We’ve all heard the stories in the media about botched lip filler and how clients have been forced to attend A&E or see a medical aesthetic practitioner to fix the problem.
Don’t take the risk with your face and your health. Paying a bit more for an experienced practitioner who uses regulated quality products is worth it.
