Patient Feedback

This page outlines feedback we have received from our patients. This can be from informal feedback during appointments or more formal feedback like patient reviews, patient questionnaires and audits.

We take patient feedback very seriously and want to offer the best service that we can. So when patients provide feedback, we listen and take action.

Feedback 1 (June – Dec 2024)

We received a multitude of enquiries from patients asking if we offered minor surgery for removal of cysts and skin lesions. The NHS no longer offer this service as it is deemed cosmetic and patients are having to seek private treatment. Many clinics offer this in Edinburgh but the high cost and travel/parking were barriers for many.

With Dr McCallum’s experience in minor surgery and a need in the local area, offering a minor surgery service was a great idea.

Outcome 1 (June 2025 onwards)

Following official registration of our minor surgical services with Healthcare Improvement Scotland we started offering this in June and performed 20 minor surgery procedures in the first two months alone.

Feedback 2 (March 24 – March 25)

We reviewed patient feedback for our first 12 months. While the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, many patients were requesting more appointments to ensure they could be seen in a timely manner.

Good appointment availability is vital when providing clinical services and we want to encourage patients to attend our clinic.

Outcome 2 (May 2025 onwards)

We are now offering more appointments each week to improve overall appointment availability. We are offering these appointments on different days of the week and offering more Saturday appointments to improve patient access.

We are also bringing another GP on board to provide more GP appointments, cryotherapy and steroid injections.

Feedback 3 (March – August 25)

Many patients have enquired whether we offer micro-needling.  This was from patients with long term skin problems and from patients looking for general improvement with skin texture, tone, pigmentation and scarring. Micro-needling is a versatile treatment that can be used with polynucleotides, skin boosters and active to improve skin. Without offering this service we had to refer patients elsewhere.

Outcome 3 (Oct 2025 onwards)

We purchased an IMedpen medical grade micro-needling pen and started offering this treatment as a stand alone and with polynucleotides. It has become a popular treatment and a much appreciated addition to the clinic.

Feedback 4 (August – September 25)

We noticed some patients having difficulty contacting us via phone, specifically speaking to a person, to make an appointment.

Outcome 4 (Oct 2025 onwards)

We introduced a call handling service for our patients to aid in answering questions and help with booking appointments.
