Minor Surgical Procedure
On the day of your surgery Dr McCallum will review your medical/medication history, go over the procedure and go through the consent form with you.
The procedure takes 15 – 30 minutes depending on size and complexity. The surgical area is thoroughly cleaned and sterile instruments used at all times – to ensure a clean environment. The procedure is performed using local anaesthetic. Before starting the surgery Dr McCallum will make sure that the surgical area is numbed. You will be monitored throughout the procedure. At the end of the procedure stitches will be used to close the wound and dressing applied.
Dr McCallum will arrange a review appointment for 5-10 days where your stitches will be removed but if any issues develop before then you can contact her for advice.
