If you require a prescription, Dr McCallum can print a paper copy or can email a copy to a local pharmacy.
Private prescriptions are not free like NHS ones. There are two sums of money to pay for private prescriptions. The cost of individual items vary and must be paid directly to the pharmacy dispensing the mediation. Dr McCallum can provide an estimate of cost before prescribing any item. Pharmacies also charge an admin fee for dispensing private prescriptions, which can vary from £10 to 20% of cost of the medications.
We are in partnership with Dears pharmacies, who have many branches across Fife and Lothian. They will accept SkinGenius private prescriptions via email or a paper copy, and their admin fee is only £5 per item. You can take a paper copy of your private prescription to any pharmacy that is convenient but using Dears keeps costs down.
Any prescription issued during the consultation will be shared with your NHS GP, if consent is given for this. If consent is not given, prescriptions for controlled drugs like opioids (including cocodmol) and gabapentin, will not be issued. This is a safety issue.
